Doula
For over 15 years, Rachel has dedicated her education and career to early childhood development. She received a BS in Psychology-Neuroscience from Penn State University with a minor in Human Development and Family Studies in 2015, while interning as a preschool teacher and working as a research assistant in a child emotional regulation lab. After graduating, she worked as a project manager in that same lab, and went on to attend a graduate program in Education and Child Studies for a year in The Netherlands (the place with the happiest children in the world!), while working in an infant attachment research lab. She then moved to Denver and worked for over 3 years as a full time nanny to multiple families, with children from 10 days to 5 years old! In 2022, she completed her DONA International Postpartum Doula training and has enjoyed serving families and babies in that role since then!
Yoga
Growing up in the competitive gymnastics world, Rachel fell in love with finding new ways to move her body, and took her first yoga class at the age of 14. Immediately hooked, she would go on to study yoga alongside her academics at Penn State University, complete her 200hr Yoga Teacher Training in 2016, 85hr Prenatal Training and Postpartum Training in 2020, and 300hr Yoga Teacher Training in 2021. In 2022, she completed her training with the Body Ready Method: a movement philosophy designed to optimize how you feel during your pregnancy, birth and postpartum! Though Rachel is a bit of an inversion addict in her own practice, she believes there is a style of yoga fit for every single person’s needs and loves curating this wonderful practice to be just that. In addition to running Toula Co., Rachel teaches group Power, Prenatal, and Baby and Me yoga classes at The River Yoga, and Belly Bliss in Denver, Colorado.
